The Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Welfare Foundation (MSIWF) was founded in 1975 in Japan and dedicates itself to practicable research in the areas of traffic safety and senior citizen welfare. To date, the foundation has handed out more than 1,975 awards with a combined value of JPY 2,296 million (THB708.6 million). The grant was made available outside of Japan for the first time in 2007, beginning with Singapore. From 2008, the grant was extended to Thailand. MSIG Holdings (Asia) Pte Ltd (“MSIG Asia”) is the acting liaison for the foundation in both countries.
